Just cause subject to probationary period GENERAL SUMMARY Provides the per parcel valuation for each class of property through data research and analysis.
Performs field visits to each parcel to gather accurate information.
Maps, measures, draws and inputs field data gathered to develop values for properties within the County.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Performs complex on-site inspections of land and buildings.
Describes appraisal procedures, presents pertinent data, and assists in defending assessments.
Reviews, gathers and analyzes available pertinent information concerning classes of real and personal property and makes market value appraisals.
Examines building plans, specifications, and measures and compiles construction data for appraisal of property.
Consults with property owners and other relevant parties regarding property information for appraisal.
Analyzes data gathered and prepares appraisal data and reports.
Audits and verifies statements or information for accuracy and completeness.
Draws rough plans, parcel splits and other data; calculates building and land square footage.
Assists in the appraisal and audit of personal property.
Performs related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS Required Education and Experience High school diploma (or GED equivalent) One (1) year of related work experience, such as assessing and appraisal Required Licenses or Certifications Michigan Certified Assessing Officer certification from the Michigan State Tax Commission Possession of a valid Michigan driver's license and operable, insured automobile for authorized travel Preferred Licenses or Certifications Michigan Advanced Assessing Officer certification COMPETENCIES FOR SUCCESSFUL PERFORMANCE OF JOB DUTIES Knowledge of:
